Local website company Green Cottage Design of Sabden are reinforcing their green ethos by planting and dedicating indigenous, organically grown tree saplings to every new website they design as part of their company environmental policy.
Green Cottage already use eco friendly, CO2 neutral web hosting for every website they design. The hosting service provider utilise wind, water and solar power in accordance with the Renewable Energy Certification System (RECS).
Owner and designer Mick Threlfall said, “As a member of the Sustainable Tourism Business Network for the Forest of Bowland, itself an area of outstanding natural beauty, I wanted to give something back to the local community and help to reinvest in the natural environment at the same time.
Many trees in the area around Sabden were chopped down and used for the war effort in World War II. What better time to start reinstating those trees than on Remembrance Day, in memory of the region’s people who gave their lives to this country.”
Local farmer Bobby Gill of Cockshotts Farm was only too pleased to offer the planting site in support of this very worthy initiative.
